Research and Development Survey – Information releases

The R&D Survey measures the level of research and development activity, employment and expenditure by private sector enterprises, government departments, government-owned trading entities, and universities. The R&D Survey is carried out biennially by Statistics New Zealand. Results from previous surveys have been released by MoRST.

Latest releases

The Research and Development Survey (R&D Survey) is sponsored by the Ministry of Research, Science and Technology (MoRST).

The release contains tables on:

  • research and development expenditure
  • type of research and development by sector
  • source of funding for research and development expenditure.
