Latest releases

The January 2009 release of ECT data is the first to utilise a streamlined format for its Hot Off The Press release. The highlights and detailed commentary are replaced by a brief summary of the key facts with a high-level overview, and a section of related information. Statistics NZ welcomes your feedback.

The released data includes:

  • value of electronic card transactions – total, retail industry and core retail industry (excluding motor vehicles) aggregations: actual (unadjusted), seasonally adjusted and trend series
  • volume of electronic card transactions (numbers of transactions) – total, retail industry and core retail industry (excluding motor vehicles) aggregations: actual (unadjusted) series only.
