Accommodation Survey: September 2009

Compared with September 2008:

• Total guest nights were 3 percent higher.
• International guest nights were up 8 percent, while domestic guest nights were up less than 1 percent.
• Eleven of the 12 regions had more guest nights.
• Otago and Canterbury recorded the largest increases, driven by international guest nights.
• All four accommodation types had more guest nights, led by hotels.
