Hotels drive April increase in guest nights
Highlights
Compared with April 2009:
Hotels were the only accommodation type with more guest nights, up 7 percent.
Total guest nights were up 1 percent.
Guest nights in the South Island were up 4 percent while guest nights in the North Island were down 1 percent.
The Otago and Auckland regions had the largest increases in guest nights.
International guest nights were up 2 percent and domestic guest nights were similar.
