Building Consents Issued: August 2009

Highlights

Consents for 1,165 new dwellings were authorised, excluding apartments.
Consents for 30 new apartment units were authorised.
The seasonally adjusted number of new dwellings authorised, excluding apartments, rose 2.8 percent. The level is at its highest since September 2008.
The trend for the number of new dwellings authorised, excluding apartments, has been increasing in recent months.
The value of residential building consents for August 2009 was $440 million.
The value of non-residential building consents for August 2009 was $384 million.
