In May 2010 compared with April 2010:
- Food prices fell 0.7 percent.
- Meat, poultry, and fish prices fell 2.4 percent.
- Grocery food prices fell 0.7 percent.
- Fruit and vegetables prices fell 2.1 percent.
- Restaurant meals and ready-to-eat food prices rose 0.3 percent.
- Non-alcoholic beverage prices rose 1.5 percent.
From May 2009 to May 2010:
- Food prices decreased 0.5 percent. This is the first annual fall in food prices since the year to July 2004.
