Food Price Index: June 2009

In June 2009 compared with May 2009:

• Food prices rose 2.8 percent.
• Fruit and vegetable prices rose 15.0 percent
• Grocery food prices rose 1.1 percent.
• Meat, poultry and fish prices rose 2.1 percent.
• Non-alcoholic beverage prices rose 0.3 percent.
• Restaurant meals and ready-to-eat food prices rose 0.1 percent.

From June 2008 to June 2009:

• Food prices increased 8.4 percent.
