In August 2009 compared with July 2009:
- Food prices fell 0.9 percent.
- Grocery food prices fell 1.3 percent.
- Fruit and vegetable prices fell 3.3 percent.
- Meat, poultry and fish prices fell 0.4 percent.
- Restaurant meals and ready-to-eat food prices rose 0.3 percent.
- Non-alcoholic beverage prices rose 1.0 percent.
From August 2008 to August 2009:
- Food prices increased 4.6 percent.
